127th Corps Commanders' Conference held
RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that Pakistan Army will continue its process of improving its professional standard to get rid of challenges in future in better way.
General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani said this while addressing the 127th Corps Commanders' Conference held under his chair at General Headquarters here Tuesday.
He expressed his full satisfaction over the fact that the results of all the military operations are excellent and praised the professional capabilities and performance of all formations and units in recent field and firing exercises and reiterated the resolve that Pakistan Army would get rid of future challenges by improving its professional standard.
All available resources would be utilised to improve the performance of Pakistan Army, he added.
According to military sources, the conference expressed complete satisfaction over results of the ongoing military operation Rah-e-Nijat against militants in tribal areas and also approved roadmap for the rehabilitation, reconstruction and return of affected people to their homes.
Under the roadmap, military sources added, the affected people would start returning to their homes next month.
Sources said that General Kayani also took into confidence the conference about his meeting with ISAF commanders and visit to Afghanistan, while the conference also discussed the allied forces operation in Helmand.
Besides, sources said that the conference also discussed Pak-India border situation, regional security situation and professional matters of the Army. According to sources, General Kayani told participants that development work in tribal areas has been started and Rs350 million would be spent on it, while two dams would be constructed there.
According to spokesman, the conference attended by all Corps Commanders and principal staff officers, was a routine monthly conference, which reviewed in detail the professional affairs of the Army and participants were given detailed briefing.-Online
