Enough is enough
|
|
Since the start of September the country has witnessed worst carnage, particularly in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The latest attack at police barracks in Kohat around Iftari time can be termed 'crossing all the limits'. Now people of Pakistan have a right to say enough is enough and demand declaring a full-scale war against the militants. The time has come to give more powers and control to Army in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, it must also be made very clear to the residents of the areas to get rid of both local and foreign militants as soon as possible or be ready to face consequences. The residents of these areas must realise that they have become hostage to these militants and terming them Muslims is a disgrace to the religion of peace. These militants are using local populace as 'human shield'. The government and people of Pakistan must also understand that these militants have only one objective and that is 'Pakistan's Destruction'. In this endeavor intelligence agencies and soldiers of many countries are their accomplice. They provide resources, arsenal, and trained soldiers and above all infringe sensitive information. It is on record that most of the incidents have taken place in areas declared 'high security zones' and targets have been sensitive installations. The time has also come to completely seal our boarder with Afghanistan because most of these militants have hideouts there and taking the advantage of porous borders trespass, conduct their attacks in Pakistan and go back to Afghanistan. It is on record that foreign intelligence agencies not only provide them with full cover but also elaborate network of their agents throughout the length and breadth of Pakistan. Even an average citizen understands that whatever is happening in Pakistan is being done by its enemies wearing different masks in different areas. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa they wear the mask of Islamists; in Balochistan they call themselves nationalists; in Punjab they are recognised as Punjabi Taliban and in Sindh members of banned religious outfits. All of them have a common goal 'destabilise Pakistan. It is also alleged that many elected representatives have close contacts with the perpetrators, police is helpless and rangers are reluctant to round them up. Therefore, it becomes the collective responsibility of Army, Air Force, and Navy to prepare a comprehensive plan to weed out the culprits. In this endeavor every citizen of Pakistan must join the security forces. During war every citizen is a solider irrespective of the fact whether he/she wears a uniform. The time has come to save Pakistan and its citizens. Don't expect any external help we have to do it on our own and our forces are fully capable of undertaking such operation but secrecy is the key to success. Give yourself a chance.
