 ‘Politicians manipulating flood victims’



SUKKUR: Federal Minister Labour & Manpower, Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah has said that flood affectees should not become puppet in the hands of political actors, as they want to bring them on roads against the government. They should remain cool and do not create a situation of anarchy.
Addressing a press conference here in Sukkur on Thursday, he said, "I don't have any objection to investigate the issue of dykes breaking while alleged breaching of embankments should bring to justice, so that, political actors cease their politics on this factitious issue".
He urged to the flood victims that they should remain calm and cool government would leave no stone unturned to remove their grievances and resentment. There are certain political figures who want to use innocents for their own political purposes. The PPP-led coalition government would carryout of their pledges regarding flood stricken people.
While government is mulling over several projects for rehabilitation of the flood affectees and in this regard registration has been started. All flood affectees who are residing on roads and near embankments they would be shifted to relief camps by providing all maximum facilities. Where they would be provided proper aid and assistance, added the Federal Minister.-Online
