FBR to release tax data by weekend

Says Rs1150bn revenue collected so far
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected over Rs1150 billion revenues during the financial year 2008-09 so far, however a substantial amount of revenues collected in June are still in the pipeline.
According to FBR statement issued Thursday, several misleading reports have currently been published in a section of press, depicting an unrealistic picture of latest revenue collections for the Financial Year 2008-09.
The statement clarified that a substantial amount of the revenues collected for June 2009 was still in the pipeline and the final figures were likely to be settled by this weekend.
Nevertheless, the provincial figures of total revenues worked out for FY09 so far are over Rs1150 billion as against Rs1007.50 billion collected during FY08. The present provincial figures for FY09 thus show an increase of over 14 per cent over the revenue collections of the FY08.  However, the final figures are expected to be on the higher side, the statement added.-APP
