 US investors eye various sectors



4-member USA delegation visit BoI
ISLAMABAD: A four-member delegation from USA headed by Mark F Viator, Vice President, M/s Imat Services Energy Investment group,  visited Board of Investment and discussed with Saleem H Mandviwalla, Minister of State/Chairman Board of Investment opportunities available in Pakistan.
Chairman Board of Investment welcomed the US delegation and appreciated the role of US companies and businessmen in Pakistan. He highlighted the policy parameters of investment in Pakistan.
He underlined the policy which allows 100 per cent foreign equity in the major sectors and full repatriation of profits and dividends in all the sectors.
It was further explained that the average rate of return is almost 30 per cent and in some cases up to 50 per cent. The delegation was given a detailed  presentation on overall investment climate, investment policy, incentive packages and opportunities available for potential investors.
Tariq Iqbal Puri, Secretary, Ministry of Investment appreciated the delegation for their commitment to bring US delegation to Pakistan in future and further strengthening strong links between Pakistan and USA. He assured to extend all possible assistance to US investors. The delegation appreciated the hospitality extended to them during their visit in Pakistan. They expressed their interest to invest in the Energy, Oil & Gas, Refinery, Housing & Construction projects etc. They are also looking for strategic investment partners in Pakistan. -APP
