'30pc cut in nondevelopment expenditure'

KARACHI: Administrator City District Government Karachi Fazlur Rehman has issued directive for 30 per cent cut in nondevelopment expenditure, saying that timely disbursement of pays and pensions of employees and completion of development projects on time would be topmost preference.
Addressing a meeting of the officers of Finance, Planning and Revenue Department at camp office on Tuesday, he instructed them to hold weekly meeting to review current situation and take measures for improvement in the financial condition.
The meeting was attended by EDO Revenue Roshan Ali Shaikh, EDO Finance & Planning Naila Wajid Khan and other officers.
Administrator Karachi on this occasion said that the ongoing development process will not be allowed to halt in any circumstances. "The officers must therefore ensure maximum reduction in the nondevelopment expenditures till the time monitory condition gets improved," He said adding that an immediate 30 per cent cut should be made in the heads of imprest account, telephone bills, petrol quota for officer's vehicles and other nondevelopment expenditures.
