Managing water - Letter To The Editor 06

Water factor has one again high altered the nation of Pakistan. But this time the capacity of water has increased to spill fill level. The waters of the rains monsoon season serving as the turmoil for the people of Pakistan.
This water seems no more a blessing but a threat of floods. Situation had been better and in favor of nation, if Kalabagh dam had constructed. The villages along the site of Kalabagh dam accept being drowned away with the floods every year and loose whatever belonging they had and even the lives of dear ones. But they cannot accept being secured and protected by yearly floods and don't agree upon the construction of dam. Are they the ones, who are major hurdle in the construction of Kalabagh dam or any other factor? Do they speak of their own voice or being dictated by the feudals?  Why can't Pakistan s national interest always remain national interest! Why personal interests lead the interests of the nation? Is it only public that suffers? If yes, then who gains?

We should raise voice at this point of time that why Kalabagh dam is still on the wedge of reality and dream. Water is being wasted by coursing from the rivers, then to sea. If the situation remains the same, all the water would incorporate with the salty water of sea and Pakistan would left with no water to drink.
