ISLAMABAD: Black box of ill-fated Air Blue plane which crashed into the Margala Hill on July 28 has been found and handed over to Civil Aviation Authority.
DG Civil Aviation Authority, Air Commodore (Retd) Javed Amin confirming the finding of the black box said that the box also contains the recordings of conversations between the cockpit and control tower, which would help determine the circumstances which led to the crash of the plane
A black box preserves the records of what happened in the event of a disaster. The box is made of a nearly indestructible material so that even if the plane is destroyed, the box can be found and retrieved. The box contains recordings of the status of the plane, including measurements of altitude, air pressure, as well as mechanical status.
The investigation agencies continued their search work on the site of the incident on Saturday morning when CDA rescue workers found a box, which was handed over to investigative agencies. The agencies confirmed that the box was black box of the crashed plane. The box contains complete record from departure till crashing of the flight.
Sources told Online that the box has been handed over to CAA for now and for further decoding it would be sent to France. The air bus experts in France would decode the box and would determine the actual cause of the crash.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik while confirming the recovery of black box said that it would never unveil the reality about air crash but would help to quell the rumours. Talking to the media persons here on Saturday, he said that recovery of black box would put the inquiry team on right way to reach the logical conclusion. He informed that Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) would send it abroad for decoding to extract information about the incident.
