ZTBL aims to revive Micro Credit Scheme to facilitate women and assist govt in poverty alleviation ISLAMABAD: President Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), Zaka Ashraf announced record promotion of 1358 officers of the bank to redress the grievances among bank employees. In general cadre, about 723 officers of grade-II have been promoted to grade-1 where as in computer cadre 26 officers have been promoted from grade-II to grade-I. Similarly 578 officers of general cadre of grade-I have been promoted as Assistant Vice President whereas in computer cadre 31 officers of grade-I have been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Zaka Ashraf also promised to announce promotions of Assistant Vice President to Vice President. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the bank officers have been deprived of promotions for last twenty years and they had to work in the same grade for this long period. Congratulating the promoted officers, Zaka Ashraf advised them to work hard and turn ZTBL into one of the best banks of the world. He said that the bank introduced tractor scheme to facilitate farmers and assured that the scheme would be computerised to make it transparent. He said ZTBL would revive Micro Credit Scheme and Credit to facilitate women and assist government in its efforts for poverty alleviation. He said that the bank aims to provide lending by providing fertilisers, seeds and pesticides to help farmers obtain quality inputs at regulated prices. He said that as compared to the credit disbursements of Rs64 billion last year, the bank has disbursed Rs75 billion current year and recovery rate has also been expanded saying that as compared to the recoveries of Rs64 billion last year, it recovered Rs70 billion current year. -APP
