LONDON: Gold rose for a third day on Wednesday to verge on another record high and silver hit a 2-1/2 year peak as the waves of nervousness over the global economy steered investors into perceived safe-haven assets.

LONDON: ICE coffee futures rallied to a 13-1/4 year high on Wednesday and were within sight of the psychological $2 a lb, while raw sugar touched a fresh six-month top, supported by tight supplies, and cocoa eased.
