BEIJING: The year 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. To promote mutual understanding and exchange between civilizations and enhance Beijing's international visibility, a Pakistani production team was invited to Beijing in mid-September to conduct on-site visits and film a series of special features. The 2026 "Charming Beijing" television series officially premiered on PTV at 6:00 p.m. Pakistan time on October 20, 2026. The production team explored Beijing's iconic landmarks and distinctive urban settings, developing content around four key themes: "Cultural Beijing," "Technological Beijing," "Green Beijing," and "Dialogue with Beijing." Through an international storytelling approach, the series showcases the rich cultural heritage of Beijing, an ancient capital with a history spanning thousands of years, while highlighting the city's achievements in modernization and contemporary development. The overseas "Charming Beijing" television series project is an international cultural exchange initiative launched by the Information Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality. Since its inception in 2019, the project has invited production teams from 17 countries, including Laos, Serbia, Italy, Brazil, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Brunei and Pakistan, to film in Beijing. The resulting programmes have been broadcast on mainstream television channels in more than ten countries, showcasing Beijing's unique cultural appeal and dynamic development to audiences around the world.
