KARACHI: A conversation about breast health can extend far beyond the walls of a clinic. Through its latest community outreach initiative, Umeed by LADIESFUND, an initiative of Dawood Global Foundation, brought together 100 women at the SINA Clinic in Baldia Ittehad Town for a breast cancer awareness and empowerment training, helping make essential health knowledge more accessible at the neighbourhood level. The session focused on practical breast health education, encouraging participants to become familiar with their bodies, recognise possible warning signs and understand when professional medical attention should be sought. Beyond the training itself, the initiative sought to encourage women to share what they learned with other women in their families and communities, extending the impact of the session well beyond the 100 participants. The Baldia Ittehad Town outreach is part of Umeed by LADIESFUND's expanding collaboration with SINA, which uses the reach of established community clinics to bring women's health education closer to the communities they serve. This approach recognises that meaningful awareness is not simply about delivering information; it is about making knowledge accessible, understandable and relevant to women's everyday lives. "I am especially pleased to see Umeed by LADIESFUND's breast cancer awareness and empowerment training reach the SINA Clinic at Baldia Ittehad Town. Having introduced Umeed to SINA, it is deeply rewarding to see that initial connection grow into a wider programme bringing awareness, education and empowerment to women across Karachi's underserved communities." - *Iqbal Adamjee* "It was wonderful to see 100 women participate in the breast cancer awareness and empowerment training at the SINA Clinic in Baldia Ittehad Town. We thank Umeed by LADIESFUND, an initiative of Dawood Global Foundation, for continuing to bring this vital education to women and encouraging greater awareness and early action." - *Dr. Sabeen Shah, Chief Medical Officer, SINA* "Seeing Umeed by LADIESFUND's breast cancer awareness and empowerment training reach the SINA Clinic at Baldia Ittehad Town is incredibly meaningful. This is the heart of Umeed: taking knowledge to women at their doorstep and replacing fear and silence with awareness, confidence and action. Our partnership with SINA allows us to bring this mission to communities across Karachi." - *Tara Uzra Dawood, Founder, LADIESFUND* The participation of 100 women represents another important milestone in Umeed by LADIESFUND's continuing community outreach. By working alongside SINA and reaching women through accessible neighbourhood healthcare facilities, the programme is helping create opportunities for informed conversations about breast health, encouraging women to look after themselves and supporting a culture in which health awareness can be shared from one woman to another. Through Umeed by LADIESFUND, Dawood Global Foundation continues to champion women's health education as an essential dimension of empowerment, taking knowledge into communities and encouraging women to become informed advocates for their own wellbeing and that of those around them.
